It’s always important to have all the facts before drawing a conclusion since there are always parts of the equation that could be left out when looking at things from one side. It is not my intent to either defend or discredit Eiro at this time. As information regarding the status of Eiro becomes available and once that information can be documented and verified, I will pass it on. What I can share is that both founding partners, keeping with their high regard, respect, and loyalty to their team, are working non-stop to find a resolution that will serve the best interest of all concerned. I know personally that their primary focus is providing a place where the entire Eiro Nation can find a safe and profitable home. Never has Bo Short and Ty Tribble’s professionalism been more displayed or tested than their diligence to resolve this issue and take care of their team. Very soon the past business associates of Eiro will be back together as a team and united in their efforts to bring true professionalism to this industry. Stay tuned — the best is yet to come.

We have discussed how the alpha hydroxy acids (AHA) like lactic and glycolic loosen the bonds of dead skin cells, now lets look at how a beta hydroxy acid (BHA) works. The main difference between an alpha hyroxy acid and beta hydroxy acid is their solubility. Alpha hydroxy acids are water soluble only, while beta hydroxy acids are lipid (oil) soluble. This means that beta hydroxy acids are able to penetrate into the pores which contains sebum and exfoliate the dead skin cells that are built up inside the pore. The main BHA, salicylic acid, is a multifunctional cosmetic ingredient. Not only does it penetrate and open clogged pores, it also neutralizes bacteria within the pore, and prevents clogging again by constricting pore diameter, making them less visible. Like the AHA’s, salicylic acid loosens the bonds of dead skin cells, allowing them to shed more readily, making room for regrowth of new skin.

Salicylic acid has mild anti-inflammatory activity and also facilitates skin penetration of the other active ingredients found in Eiro Derm. It helps to preserve the skin’s acid mantle, and has a very mild UV-absorbing effect. By helping to dissolve the top layers of the stratum corneum cells and removing impurities, salicylic acid improves the look and feel of the skin.

Chamomile has antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and anti-allergenic properties which provide an emollient and soothing effect to the skin. Chamomile contains essential oils, fatty acids, flavonoids, tannins, and amino acids, but the 2 most important ingredients are: Chamazolene and Levomenol. Both of these compounds are potent anti-inflammatory agents. Chamazolene reduces inflammation by inhibiting leukotriene synthesis, an inflammatory mediator.(1) Chamazolene has a soothing effect on skin and reduces redness, stinging, and itching. Levomenol, a natural moisturizer, improves skin texture and elasticity, and diminishes the signs of photodamage. Chamazolene and Levomenol work togeteher, synergistically, to soothe and soften the skin.(2)

Horsetail can be seen as one of those rare and exceptional cosmetic agents that when even applied topically, work to beautify from the inside rather than just changing the external appearance. The texture, strength, and tone of skin is improved by horsetail because its silicon penetrates the skin to aid in collagen formation and maintenace.(1) Horsetail provides a regenerating and soothing effect while also toning the skin; another reason a separate toner is not necessary.

These compounds also have strong antioxidant activity against superoxide, a highly reactive form of oxygen, activated by UV light. In a recent Japanese study, researches found that extracts of witch hazel have strong activity against reactive oxygen in skin tissue and protect skin cells from damage against these harmful forms of oxygen.(2) Scientists have proposed that witch hazel extracts should be further researched for their potential to provide anti-aging and anti-wrinkling effects when applied topically to skin, something the Skinceuticals and now Eiro scientists have been in a continual process of doing.

Most skin care companies utilize a cleanser and a toner to prepare the skin to properly absorb the ingredients of the other products in their skin care lines. So how has Eiro accomplished the same thing with just one product? First, what is the purpose of a toner and do you really need one? If you ask women that work at a salon, spa, boutique, or cosmetic counter, they will probably tell you that a toner is an essential step, that it corrects the ph of the skin, removes any dirt or makeup your cleanser missed, and prepares the skin to receive moiturizers and/or other treatments. The theory is that toners will soothe the skin, draw moisture to the skin, and penetrate the pores to clear out dead skin cells and bacteria. So back to the question, do you really need one with Eiro Derm?

You should not need a toner to remove dirt and makeup your cleanser missed — you just need a better cleanser. As far as balancing the skin, preparing it to receive moisture and treatments, and penetrating the pores, a properly formulated cleanser should accomplish all of this. So over the next several post, lets look at the ingredients of Eiro Derm Gel Cleanser and explain how each will help accomplish all of the above.

Before I go into what is exactly in these products and what each ingredient does, there something you need to know. Most skin care products on the market today were designed for a woman’s body (DUH). What this means is that many of these products are dangerous for a male to use. Here’s why: Many of these products contain phytoestrogens. A good thing for females, a potentially bad thing for males. A study reported in a 2007 issue of the New England Journal of Medicine found that many of the phytoestrogens found in women’s skin care products were endocrine disruptors, compounds that may interfere with hormone production or activity. Laboratory studies confirmed that many of these phytoestrogens inhibit the affects for androgen and mimics the affects of estrogen.

Eiro Derm was designed for use by males and females. It does not contain any of these endocrine disruptors. Eiro Derm is perfectly safe for males and females. Unfortunately guys, we are not immune to the effects of aging. Our skin gets photo damaged just like the ladies. We are exposed to the same sunlight, the same fluorescent lights, the same air pollutants, the same environmental toxins. Instead of sneaking your significant other’s moisturizer which may not be safe, consider a skin care system that was scientifically designed.
